Incredible opportunities

As a community connecting wool growers with the fashion industry, Fleece to Fashion provides cash prizes as well as a number of incredible opportunities for developing and emerging designers

Major Awards

Supreme Award - AWI Industry Immersion

Offering a complete INTERNATIONAL wool supply chain induction and a tailored program of events, the 2024 AWI Supreme Award experience will take place in Tokyo, Japan, and Seoul, South Korea. This presents a remarkable opportunity for the winner to explore two incredible cities, dive into wool manufacturing, and learn about their vibrant fashion and retail landscapes. It promises to be an unforgettable experience, and especially so if our winner can make it in March 2025 to align with Tokyo Fashion Week!

The total prize package includes flights, accommodation and daily expenses valued at up to AUD$9,000. Please note the prize must be scheduled and booked by June 30 2025 and is not redeemable for cash, refundable or transferable.

Fleece to Fashion Fostership

In honour of our founder Liz Foster, we are thrilled to announce the inaugural Fleece to Fashion Fostership 2024.

A $5,000 cash prize to be awarded to a regional student entering their first year or already enrolled in a recognised tertiary institute. The Fostership will go to a student who, without this award, would find it challenging to take up their place due to financial circumstances.

Akira Isogawa Mentorship

Each year, legendary designer Akira Isogawa selects one young design talent from the Fleece to Fashion Awards to join him in his studio as a mentee and design protege. Working with Akira, recipients explore new design techniques that stretch their imagination and skill set to create couture pieces that elevate fashion to art.

Please note: This mentorship takes place in Sydney and will be managed between Akira and his selected mentee so may differ from year to year.
