Terms and Conditions
Please read carefully and acknowledge your understanding on your entry form.
Entry Requirements
The entry form and entry fee/s must be received at the specified location and by the date noted on the website and entry form for you to receive your entry number and instructions. All portfolios lodged with entry forms must be in PDF format.
On receipt of your entry fee, an entry number will be allocated and emailed to you.
Your name must NOT appear on any garment, accessory, or portfolio. Tags showing your allocated entry number must be sewn onto the rear lining of your garments. Please mark all accessories (shoes, hats, etc.) with this number. Any garment or item not marked may not be judged or returned.
Garments must be made to standard womenswear commercial pattern sizes: 8 to 14.
Menswear must be commercial pattern sizes S, M, or L. Entries must be competition garments and must not be made to your own measurements.
Garments must include sewn-in hanging tapes for skirts, trousers, strapless pieces, and one-shouldered dresses/gowns.
Each garment must be made from a minimum of 60% merino wool. The overall look must meet the minimum 60% wool content, though a higher content is preferable. Collections with the minimum wool content will not be dismissed from any award category, including the Supreme Award.
Wool-blend fabrics such as wool denim must be used in conjunction with fabrics containing a higher wool content. Other materials such as leather, fur, lace, and beads may be incorporated.
Collections must consist of three looks and must demonstrate superior design and technical skills, with all garments relating to one another as a cohesive collection—not as three unrelated looks. Portfolios must be submitted with your entry form as a PDF and will be pre-judged. Collections that do not relate to each other or do not contain three looks will not proceed to judging.
A detailed portfolio giving dressing instructions, a photograph of each look, and any special construction details (e.g., hand-woven, dyed, knitted, or multi-pattern work) must be provided.
Designers must personally create their garments, including sewing, knitting, constructing, or otherwise bringing their designs to life. Subcontracted or commercially made garments are not permitted.
Garments not complying with these entry requirements may, at our absolute discretion, not be judged or paraded.
Garments must be received at our specified location by the date noted on the website entry page. No COD deliveries will be accepted.
No refunds will be provided unless deemed appropriate by us, at our absolute discretion.
Judging and Presentation
Judging and presentation night will be noted on our website and is subject to change without further notice.
Secondary students are welcome to enter the open categories with a separate garment but will be judged accordingly.
Garments will be displayed on models chosen by us.
No entrant will be permitted backstage before or after the awards presentation night without prior permission.
Under no circumstances will garments or accessories be given out or returned to entrants after the awards night parade.
We reserve the right to not show any garments at the presentation night if they do not meet our minimum requirements.
Judges have the right to disqualify any entry that does not comply with the Terms & Conditions or competition rules.
Awards and Prizes
Prizes will be awarded at the sole discretion of the judges. No correspondence will be entered into.
If, in the opinion of the judges, entries in a section or class do not meet the required standard, no award will be made in that section or class.
The judges reserve the right to reclassify entries.
Prizes will be distributed within 3 months of the awards presentation night.
We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another type of prize up to the value of the prize nominated for the relevant section.
Any additional prizes will be communicated on our website enter page.
Intellectual Property
Any photographs, videos or other media taken or prepared by us, or our contractors, sponsors or affiliates will be owned by us.
We reserve the right to utilise these photos, videos and other media of the garments and award entrants at any time now or in the future.
Privacy
We will comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) in relation to any personal or sensitive information that you provide to us.
Liability
All reasonable care will be taken with your entry, but no liability will be accepted for loss or damage to any garment or accessory in our custody, or in the transit between you and us.
Your participation in judging, the awards presentation or any other event held by us is at your own risk. We will not be liable for any loss, damage or injury sustained by you in connection with, or arising out of, your participation at our events.
All matters relating to the conduct of these awards are at the sole discretion of our Board of Directors and Contracted Management.
Return of entries
Unless notified otherwise, entries are required to be collected in person from the designated collection point as noted on the website. If entries are not collected, subject to the point below, they will be returned via courier or pre-paid Australia Post, in the original packaging. Please ensure it will withstand the return journey. We find the Australia Post boxes the most suitable.
